Play a Wordle-Style Game With Friends
Can you play Wordle with friends? Traditional Wordle is a single-player daily puzzle, but multiplayer word games such as WordWarz let friends compete directly in word-guessing matches online. Send a link, everyone guesses the same word live, and the scores settle it.

- Create a room. Pick a mode – Classic, Blitz or Elimination – and any extras, or keep the defaults.
- Invite your friends. Use the share button in the lobby to send an invite link, or read out the room code. Links open straight into your lobby.
- Everyone readies up. The host starts the match once all players are ready.
- Guess the word. Everyone races to solve the same five-letter word. You can check how your friends are doing while you play.
- Compare results. Scores, placements and the round-by-round standings appear when the match ends.
- Play again. Head back to the lobby and start another match with the same group.
Why multiplayer is different from sharing Wordle scores
Sharing a Wordle result grid is asynchronous: you each solve the puzzle alone, post an emoji grid, and compare afterward. There is no moment where you are racing. In WordWarz the contest is the game. You and your friends are on the same word at the same time, a faster solve is worth more, and you can watch the pressure build as someone else gets close.
Good situations for WordWarz
- Game night with everyone on their own phone or laptop
- Friends in different cities – all you need is a link
- Group chats that already argue about the daily puzzle
- Coworkers who want a five-minute break together
- Gaming and Discord communities – rooms hold up to 20 players
How matches work
- Classic: five rounds; the highest total score wins.
- Blitz: ten rounds on a shorter clock, so speed matters even more.
- Elimination: the lowest score is knocked out each round until one player is left. It needs at least four players, so it is best for a bigger group.
- Scoring: solving earns points, with bonuses for fewer guesses and for time left on the clock.
